PRODUCTION CYCLE

Quarella's production cycle is the result of sophisticated technological research that has been perfected during the course of many years experience. The material is realized following precise formulations, in different phases, which result in the final product.
The production cycle can be summarized in the following phases:
1) Selection and mixing of the raw materials;
2) Vibro-compression of the inert material under vacuum;
3) Polymerisation of the material;
4) Cutting of rough blocks (optional);
5) Finishing of the unpolished slabs (finishing can be polished, honed, brushed) and the cutting of the slabs into tiles or cut-to-size pieces.
Quarella materials are divided into marble based or quartz based products. Marble based products are made in blocks (approx 3 m³/each), while the quartz based products are produced in slabs due to their extreme hardness.
The technical characteristics and performance of the product mainly depend on the nature of the raw materials used (marble or quartz). The aesthetical aspects of the material correspond to the size of the chips, the pigments used and the different types of mixing procedures utilized during the production phases.
The products made by Quarella contain a high quantity of natural stone (approx 95%) and a minimum amount of resin that is used as a bonding agent. The technical characteristics are superior to the natural material used i.e. marble, granite or quartz, which is what the material originates from.
